Oilwell Cementing Gas Control Additives

Technical Overview

Gas migration during the "transition time" of cement hydration is a primary cause of sustained casing pressure (SCP) and annular flow. Our Gas Control Additives are engineered to prevent gas from invading the cement slurry as it transitions from a liquid to a solid state.

By forming a tight, impermeable polymer matrix and optimizing the static gel strength (SGS) development, CT610L and CT210S effectively block gas channels, ensuring long-term zonal isolation in high-pressure gas wells.

Technical Performance Highlights

  • Anti-Gas Migration: Dramatically reduces the permeability of the set cement to prevent gas flow through the matrix.

  • Transition Time Control: Optimizes the slurry hydration curve to pass through the critical gas-entry window rapidly.

  • Fluid Loss Synergy: Works in tandem with fluid loss additives to maintain a low water-loss rate ($ < 50 , mL$) under HTHP conditions.

  • High-Temperature Stability: Maintains chemical integrity at circulating temperatures up to 180°C.

Usage & Application Guidelines

  • Target Wells: Specifically recommended for high-pressure gas wells, deep exploration wells, and wells with high potential for annular flow.

  • Recommended Dosage: * CT610L: 2.0% – 5.0% (BWOC)

    •                                               CT210S: 1.0% – 3.0% (BWOC)

  • Compatibility: Compatible with all API classes of cement and most common additives, including retarders and dispersants.

Why Choose CT-Series Gas Control?

Preventing gas migration is not just about additives; it's about engineering the slurry's internal structure. Our CT series provides a specialized latex or synthetic polymer film that bridges pores and seals micro-channels before gas can initiate flow, protecting your well's structural integrity.
